Tasmania Here We Come!

To maximise on the investment of visiting this beautiful island this is going to be a little different to past events! It’s going to be a roving ride, taking you through some of Tasmania’s most beautiful and rugged terrain staying in three different locations.

We will be starting in a beautiful historic fishing village on the Far North West Coast, called Stanley. Stanley is the home of the “Nut”, you can climb or take the chairlift to the top of this ancient volcanic plug, it’s a must do!

Saturday will see two rides depart Stanley en route to the quaint township of Tullah, what remains of a once thriving Hydro Village. This will be our base for lunch and dinner, accommodation on site, including campers.

The first ride will include 90km of gravel via the Western Explorer in the Tarkine, and requires a barge crossing across the Pieman River at Corinna.

The second alternative ride (all tarmac) will take you back via the coast to Wynyard and on to Hellyer Gorge (otherwise known as HELL YEAH!!) we will visit the township of Waratah, built at the top of a waterfall which once fed water into a thriving tin mine. After lunch we will have to fuel up in Rosebery. For those who wish to, there will be an afternoon ride from there over Anthony Road (Lake Plimsoll) back to Tullah for the evening.

Sunday morning we will depart Tullah and head to Queenstown via Reece Dam, Zeehan and Strahan.

And finally, because we’re already in Queenstown, There will be the option on Monday to ride the iconic 99 Bends and Mount Arrowsmith to Derwent Bridge.
